Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira, announced in her newly released memoir, Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the dark, that she had a relationship of 19 years with a woman named Teresa T. Wierson, who became her friend, assistant, and eventually a longtime love. She shared Wierson had an entry when she was emotionally and sexually closed for business after her divorce.
At the time, they both were divorced, and when her daughter went to her father’s house, the pair went on a movie date and fell for each other. Peterson wrote that she was with someone who made her feel safe, blessed, and truly loved for the first time in her life.
Peterson had once talked about how she mistook her for a man, a real bad guy who gave intense energy when they first met at the Hollywood Gold’s Gym.
Her reason for keeping the relationship secret was not to disappoint her fans as she clarifies,
“ I’m happy and relieved to finally allow our secret to see the light of day. So I was worried that if I announced I was no longer living the straight life, my fans would feel lied to, call me hypocrite , and abandon me.”
She opened up about how she fell in love with Teresa, an androgynous creature who appeared on her doorstep when she was desperate.
